Bezier Cubic Splines are an excellent and preferred method to draw the smooth continuous curves often found in typography, CAD/CAM, and graphics in general.
Among their many advantages is a very sparse data set allowing a mere eight values ( or four x,y points ) to completely define a full and carefully controlled and device independent curve. .
Avuncular Sleezoids are an artsy-crafty cutesy-poo demo and use of Bezier Cubic Splines. You create two nearby splines and then draw close enough straight lines between them to approximate a smooth surface. You then continuously increment the hue to create partial to full rainbows from end to end.
These examples are mostly random, but you can easily adjust the splines to rotate or align to gain specific effects.
