Please note that the Guru's Lair is best used with larger display systems. Especially for our many free ebooks, classic .pdf files and high detail images. Our calculators are best used with "real" keyboards.
Lower frequency Magic Sinewaves are repeating very long sequences of ones and zeros. They can get created from ordinary but extremely carefully chosen and delivered digitally switched pulses.
The key feature of of magic sinewaves is they let you force any desired number of low harmonics precisely to zero in theory and to astonishingly low levels in practice.
While allowing you to do so at the highest possible efficiency. By using the fewest possible number of switching events.
Compared to traditional PWM, magic sinewaves can offer moderately higher efficiencies and significantly reduced low harmonic distortions. With circuitry that is elegantly simple and microcontroller friendly.
For use in such applications as induction motor speed controls, electric autos, solar panels, power factor correction, inverters, home energy
efficiency improvers, 400 Hz avionics, UPS, PFC, and specialized utilities.
Special variations on Magic Sinewaves are fully three phase friendly. The performance of these and others has been verified by several independent mathematicians.
Only recently have specialized analysis and synthesis tools become
available. Don Lancaster, Synergetics, and several partners are now in the forefront of this billion dollar opportunity.
The latest versions can combine frequency and amplitude generation in a single Raspberry Pi or comparable device. Using zero to very little external custom hardware.
Since any digital generator with sharp edges inevitably has some high frequency energy present somewhere, magic sinewaves still have a few very high frequency harmonics. The key point of magic sinewaves is to do a spectrum management that forces these higher harmonics to be as weak and as high in frequency as possible.
Please note that the clocks per quadrant value sets the frequency while its carefully chosen pulse to space values set both the distortion and the amplitude.
Note that "shake the box" techniques that end up with "close" or "nearby" CPQ frequencies can significantly further reduce distortion. Typically by 2 to 10 decibels.
Use of log frequency and amplitude spacings can significantly reduce data file sizes and "unify" dynamic performance.
Magic Sinewaves can also be viewed as a largely "distortionless modulation" ploy for as yet largely unexplored apps..
Because of their extreme precision demanded timing, Magic Sinewaves are usually only suitable for power line to low audio frequency uses.

A copy of the JavaScript Companion script must be present in the same directory as the calculator itself. The JavaScript code may be read or edited in most any text editor. And then debugged with Chrome F12.
Your .shtml and .js may be combined into a single file. A minimum of full 64 bit math is demanded for Magic Sinewave development.
