Please note that the Guru's Lair is best used with larger display systems. Especially for our many free ebooks, classic .pdf files and high detail images. Our calculators are best used with "real" keyboards.
Ask the Guru was an early series of columns I did for Stan Veit of Computer Shopper Magazine. While initially strongly oriented towards the Apple II computer series, most any tech topic could show up one way or another.
I have always gone along on the assumption that, if I am interested in something, or if it catches my attention, then there’s others of you out there that also might find that something of value. And that’s regardless of whether you are an Apple person or not.
As to my current Guru status, I do still remain a high profile lifetime card carrying member of the International Brotherhood of Guru's and Swamis Hulapai County Local #357. And have just been newly recertified under MIL-TFD-41. More here.

A combined master Names and Numbers entry was created for the Blatant Opportunist, Tech Musings, Hardware Hacker, Resource Bin, and Ask the Guru archive reprints. As part of our Book-on-Demand project long ago and far away, I combined these with the other columns into this master directory.
The concept of Book-on-Demand never really developed down to the individual opportunity level.
Besides new online publications having obviously overwhelming advantages, one "hidden" cause of BOD's failure to date was the utter absence of any practical and reasonably priced emerging home based binding, shearing, covering, or jogging solutions.
Since direct URL links make much more sense these days, this list is no longer maintained. Many locations are thus no longer current. It is shown here mainly for historic reference purposes.

A second column done for Computer Shopper was initially called the Laserwriter Corner but later morphed into PostScript Secrets.
Since editorial space was severely limited, the key operative word here was intense. In a cross between "minute manager" and "Just-the-facts-Maam" styles, each month would usually see a few concise use tips ranging the gamut from unique beginner ideas on up to through the utterly gonzo.
Each month included a new Free Font. I defined a "free font" as any trick you can apply to your already existing fonts to make them do totally new things in uniquely different ways.
Additional "gee whiz" apps were added to each column when they were combined into a Book-on-Demand archive project.
In early 1992, the Nuts & Volts electronic shopper magazine decided to dramatically upgrade their editorial content and become a "full service" technical hobbyist magazine.
So, I started up my Resource Bin series of columns. As with most of my stories, almost anything at all is likely to appear. But the main focus would be "where to go to get stuff".
A very few of the earlier columns do remain only available in this archive format. They have been alternately linked above.

I've gathered most of our historic archives together here...
Certain files may not have ever been upgraded to newer standards and may otherwise be somewhat "lost".
Many more classic reprints can be found here. And free eBooks here.
